One of the best MODs I have seen so far for phpBB3 is the ReIMG Image Resizer 1.0.1 by DavidIQ. It is also the most popular MOD (by downloads) at the phpBB MOD site.

If you want to see what it does then here is a cool example of it. Click on the second picture in this post and then click on the magnifying glass with a plus sign at the top right hand corner of the picture. You will notice how nicely the image is maximized based on the screen resolution, hence allowing you to view details of very large pictures within the forums’ posting.

If you have a phpBB forum then this is a must have for you. The installation instructions provided are very clear and accurate. Don’t forget to refresh the templates etc and clear the cache at the end.

So far its a 10! Yes phpBB is a 10 and I am loving it. You can find out the details of this open source forum software at its website. But if you want to see it in action then I have the basics of it installed for my own website’s Fayax forums.

MODs (or modifications) can be somewhat tricky at times but overall most things are explained well in the install files that come with the mod. For sure backup your files and database before you make MOD installs unless you really know what you are doing. ( even then backup before MODs hehe)
